Lotto is the flagship draw game run by Camelot under the National Lottery brand. You pick six numbers between 1 and 59. Match all six in the main draw to win the jackpot.
Draws happen every Wednesday and Saturday at 8:00 PM GMT. A standard line costs £2. Since October 2015 the game has used the 6-from-59 format (before that it was 6-from-49, then 6-from-54).
Lotto sits between EuroMillions (bigger jackpots, longer odds) and smaller games like Thunderball. If you want a UK-only jackpot with twice-weekly draws, this is the game.
System entries let you pick seven or more numbers and play every possible six-number combination from your set. A syndicate splits the cost (and any winnings) across a group. Both are available through official National Lottery retailers and the online app.
When the jackpot rolls over five times without a winner, the next draw becomes a Must Be Won event. If nobody matches all six, the jackpot rolls down to the next tier with winners. That guarantees the prize pool goes to players rather than rolling again.
